Venue: The Classroom, Cambridge University Botanic Gardens (CUBG), Bateman Street Entrance, Cambridge CB2 1JE (closest to the classroom). Directions and garden map are available in event information below.

Cost:  £60 (discounted to £50 for students with valid ID*) . Please note that an Entry Fee of £5.45 per person will be payable on arrival.  Entry for Friends of CUBG will be free of charge on presentation of a valid membership card. Details about CUBG entry charges and concessions is here.

Event Information

James Alexander-Sinclair is one of the foremost garden designers in the UK. He has designed gardens from Cornwall to the Western Isles and from London to Moscow. He is also an accomplished plantsman, an award-winning writer, a compelling speaker, frequent broadcaster and an elected member of the Council of the Royal Horticultural Society.

He has regular columns in Gardeners’ World magazine and Gardens Illustrated. He writes a blog for Fine Gardening in the USA and contributes a video diary to Crocus. He has also written features for Gardens Illustrated, The Daily Telegraph, Financial Times, The Garden, Countryfile, House and Garden, The Garden Design Journal and many others.

Catering
The Classroom facilities are modest.  Tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided upon arrival/registration.  There is only one kettle should you wish to make your own.  You are more than welcome to bring your own flask, mug, tea, coffee, treats and lunch.  There is a restaurant cafe on site (view sample menu), which is around 5 minutes walk from the Classroom should you wish to buy your own lunch. There is a group bookings menu available but you will need to make your own group bookings of 10 or more people.  Orders to be placed with The Garden Cafe (suggest 2 weeks prior to the event). *Students:  please confirm you have student ID(s) for each attendee booked, and forward a copy of your valid student ID(s) to gillian@gilliangoodson.com following check-out to be confirmed on the course.

Terms and conditions
Bookings are taken on a first come, first served basis.  We are not able to give refunds for cancellations.  However, you are welcome to nominate someone to take your place provided you have notified us of their name and contact details prior to commencement of the course. We reserve the right to cancel any course at any time.  In the rare event that we need to cancel a course, you will be contacted and given the option to receive a full refund of your payment or transfer to another course of the same value, subject to availability. 

*Where a student rate is selected, proof of a valid student ID must be sent to us via email (see contact information) prior to us being able to confirm your booking.  One student ID required per attendee.  We reserve the right to refuse admission on the course should proof of valid ID not be supplied prior to the commencement of the course.  A refund will be given for the course fee paid less an administration charge of £10.
