Event Information

Being able to draw confidently is a skill that will improve design work, as well as being better able to communicate your ideas effectively to your clients.  Most clients are unable to read a plan, and so the initial impression, regardless of whether they understand it, is essential to help them buy into your ideas from the moment you lay the design in front of them.

This one-day practical workshop will teach various methods to improve your drawing, from manipulating a pencil to understanding how we see (often our brains get in the way of what we see when it comes to a making a drawing).  It will explore methods of drawing using line and tone, colour and texture, and will look at a variety of rendering techniques and materials for both 2 dimensional plans and 3 dimensional drawings so you have the knowledge to begin refining those skills to bring your work to life.

Who
Open to designers who would like to improve and add depth and breadth to their finished plans and presentation material.

What to bring
General:  Your preferred form of note taking; a cushion for additional comfort should you suffer from back aches; and a mug (see catering).
